For Venture Capitalists
ARE YOU A VENTURE CAPITALIST LOOKING FOR EXPOSURE AND NEW VENTURES TO INVEST IN? HERE IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Unlike other competitions where you sit and watch presentations all day, VCIC Denmark has a variety of activities: startup pitches, due diligence sessions, partner meetings and negotiations. Every minute you are at the competition, you will appreciate the impact you are having on students and startups alike. You will be literally changing the lives of some students and startups.
Each event has 3 interesting, pre-screened startups as the investment opportunities the students emulating VCs are assessing.
While students and startups are negotiating terms and identifying risks, a panel of VCs is observing from the periphery. After the entrepreneurs depart, the tables are turned, and it is the students who must start pitching. They must convince their “partners” (the judges) that their investment decisions are sound, and more importantly, that they will provide a reasonable return for the risk taken.
VCs pepper them with questions, digging deep into the team’s decisions and cutting to the point in their reputed no-nonsense style.
Finally, judges must choose a winning team — the team they would most like to have as their VC partner, based on their evaluation of the teams’ assessment of risk, knowledge of the VC process, communication skills and teamwork.
